What do you think of the boys name Caillen?

It's scottish and means strong. Pronounced Kay-lin.

I know there's the song/girls name Cailin..... Same pronunciation but different spelling.

What do you think?

I'm so sick of boys name because it seems every boy name I pick sounds nerdy. The other one I love is Elliott.

Caillen is something that jumped out straight away. Every other boy name just does nothing for me.

What do you think of the boys name Caillen?
It's nice and has a strong meaning. At the same time...your son will go through his whole life with people asking "How do you spell that?" or "How do you say that?"
Reply:Caillen is really cool, but I would spell it differently...

Like: Caylen. The C makes it more masculine, rather than the K. But I just realized Kaylen is two girls names put together...

Kay and Lynn....

Anyway, I love love the name Elliot for boy and girl!

Elliot Tyler

Caylen Alexander

You need a really masculine middle name to go with Caylen
Reply:I actually really do like that for a boy. I have triditional heard it from girls, but I think it's a cute boys name too. Now one I'm not too fond of is Elliott, for you're sons sake dont name him Elliott. He'll be made fun for alot throught his school years!
Reply:wellll ive only heard it as a girls name but seeing as ur from australia where uve never heard of it as a feminine name maybe its different from in the us...? but its very unique, which is always a good thing. its not too out there though which is also good...
Reply:before i read your whole q and just glanced, i thought Caillen was female, then immediately read boys name.

Caillen for male reminds me of Caleb. I like both.

i like spelling it cailen better too.
Reply:The way you spelled it when you explained the pronunciation was fine. Kaylin.

But the other way with the C reminds me of something off the spice rack that nobody knows what to use it for.
Reply:I was thinking about that for my girl's name, sorry sounds to feminine in the US for a boy. For boys name I have Killian, which I think sounds more masculine. Also on the list, Caleb and Caden
Reply:I like Cailin, it's unique =)

I also adore the name Elliot, it reminds me of the hottie detective off of Law and Order: SVU (Det. Stabler) lol =)
Reply:Kaelyn,Cailyn, Kailyn is one of the most popular GIRLS names right now.

Jaylen is a boy's name that sounds slightly more masculine.
Reply:yeah i do i know a boy named caillen i also like elliot i think u should go with Caillen elliot
Reply:Haven't you noticed every 3rd girl is called kylie/cailyn/kailynne?

How about Kariss?
Reply:Like the name and the meaning you got for it...

It's rather unique... only problem I see is that people will constantly misspell it... but then, most names are misspelled these days.

Peace
Reply:i like Elliot.

Caillen is very girly.

You could go with:

Callen

Cale

Caleb

Caden
Reply:I'm big on Gaelic names, and I've never seen this one before. Looks like a mispelling on the Gaelic boy's name Cillian.
Reply:not a fan of the spelling but its pleasing to the ear but if it spoke to you when you heard go for it
Reply:ive always loved elliot.
