Is Reilly a girls or boys name?

I've heard it as both but is it more boy or girl...and also I heard for a boy and girl it's spelled different ways so is Riley or Reilly girl or boy?

Reilly and Riley are 10000% boy names. I hate Riley, Reilly, Rylee, Rylie, Ryeleigh, etc on girls. It's very very masculine to me.
Reply:I completely agree that Reilly and Riley are 10000% boy names! I may well be the first-ever boy to be named Reilly (I was born in the early '60s). The only other Riley (not Reilly, mind you) I'd ever heard of growing up was pro football player Riley Odoms. So there - it's a BOY'S name!! ;-) Report Abuse

Reply:It can be both and I think it's an absolutely adorable name for either a girl or a boy. My neighbor's daughter is named that.





I think for a girl Reilly, Reilley, Rilee, Rylee, Rileigh, Ryley. Rylee and Rileigh are my favs.


For some reason, to me Riley is the only one that really seems to be a good spelling for a boy. Just my opinion, I don't know why.

Reply:It was originally a boys name. But mother's are trying to be unique in the naming of their daughter's, and therefore it has now become a girls name aswell. I like it as a girls name better. Riley Isabella.
Reply:I have a daughter named Ryleigh but I also like the name for a boy, spelled Reilly. I think it's a name that is truly unisex. It's neither overtly masculine or feminine, that's why it works well for either sex.
Reply:I know a boy named Riley. However, I have also heard it as a girl's name, too. I think Reilly looks more feminine, and Riley looks more masculine. Rylie is also one way to spell it for a girl.
