Which boys name do you like better?
We are down to two boy names incase we are having a boy but I love one and my hubba loves the other. Can you help pick the best one?
Zachary James Hoffman (nickname either Zack or ZJ)
OR
Johnathan James Hoffman (nicknames Johnny, Nate, or JJ)
I have James in there after my father who passed away last year.
Which boys name do you like better?
I like Jonathan James better..
Reply:I Absolutely LOVE Zachary James Hoffman (and ZJ is soo soo cute!) I think that is the better choice because it is more appealing and has so many nicknames you can call him (Zack, Z, ZJ, Zach, ect.) And i dont like the alliteration with Jonathan or the JJ. They both sound great with james and i hope you have fun with your baby boy! Best Wishes (:
Reply:I like them both and they are good traditional names a child can grow up with. I like the fact you are honoring your father by using his name as the baby's middle name. I think I like Zachary James a little better though... but not the nickname ZJ. I like Zack. Good luck and congratulations!!
Reply:I like Zachary James Hoffman, because there are enough Johns in this world as it is.
What do you think of Nathaniel James Hoffman? That is a gorgeous name. And you can call him Nate or Nathan.
Reply:I think you can not go wrong with both
I love ZJ and JJ as nicknames
I think I like Johnathan James Hoffman better
I do not know why, both are fine names
Reply:zachary james hoffman
it sounds strong, fun, and masculine. i've never met a zach that wasn't a cool guy....in fact, i dated several, haha!
congrats :)
Reply:Zachary James
Zachary and James are two of my fave names
Reply:Zachary James definitely....
Johnathan is so overused and Zach is soooo cute!!!!!
Reply:Zachary James Hoffman sounds a lot better- but I dislike "ZJ". Congrats!

What do you think of Julien for a boys name?
and how other would you spell it =]
Thanks
What do you think of Julien for a boys name?
One of my favorite names, Julian
Reply:Give the boy a chance and don't curse him with an effeminate name like Julien (hey Julie!). He'll be getting in fights to defend his manhood. It will change his personality and possibly change his life in a wrong way. Why not consider Marion or Florian if you want to ruin his life?
Reply:Julian and i love it, i think its so cute for a little boy and then sexy yet sophisticated for a man.
Reply:when i taught preschool there was little boy in my class names Julian... i loved the name then and i still love it.

Reply:I think Julien for a boy is nice. It's slowly making a comeback! I would spell it Julian, but that's because that's how my cousin spelled it for her son.
Reply:I thinkkk Julien is a very feminine name....even though it's a boys name. The onlyyy other way to spell it is Julian. %26amp; Julien is better. : D
Reply:It is a common way to spell it in Europe, so very Parisien. I like it and much more than Julius which is not a bad name at all.
Thanks

Why do some say Juno is a boys name?
I named my mare Juno and i've had a couple people tell me that Juno is a boys name which is odd because the definition of Juno is:
The principal goddess of the pantheon and the wife of Jupiter, worshiped as the goddess of women, marriage, childbirth and the moon, and as the protector of the state. She came to be identified with the Greek Hera.
I didn't name her after that, I just liked the name. But i'm just curious why some say its a boys name?
Why do some say Juno is a boys name?
People who don't know Roman mythology might say boy because of the "O" at the end. But "Juno" was the Roman queen-goddess, the wife of Jupiter, her Greek counterpart is Hera, the wife of Zeus. Juno is completely a female name.
Reply:Curiously, i have a mare named Juno aswell. I never really though it was a popular name. I've never had your problem, but now as i think about it, i guess the name sounds a little like John? :D Some people might somehow make the connection.
Reply:Probably because it ends in "O"...you know, like masculine/feminine words in other languages? Anna, Jenna, Lena, Christina - girl names Marco, Rodrigo, Santiago, can't-think-of-any-more-o - boy names
Reply:because names ending in "O" are usually boys names. Girls names usually end in "A". Antonio vs Antonia
Reply:because it's not common so they assume it's a boy, unless they saw the movie '' juno''.lol
Reply:Probably Hispanic friends? Names ending in O are boys, A are girls.
Reply:beacuse its a two way name =]

What do you think of my baby boys name?
Trent Michael
We like it because it's different but not to different, if you get what I mean. It's not something people will be like, how do you spell that or he will get picked on. I just wanted to see what you all think. :-)
He's due on 08/18/08
What do you think of my baby boys name?
Trent Michael is a good combination. And it's not overused but it's not too different, just like you want.
I dont like Trenton Michael--it sounds trendy and pretentious. You guys did a good job with the naming; stick with the original.
Good luck!!

I'd probably name him Michael Trent. I like the way that flows.
But either way, it's a great name!!!
Thanks for not using Caden or Aiden!!!

Reply:I agree with the suggestion of TRENTON MICHAEL ( Trent for short ) !
Reply:sounds like a very strong name to me,, very masculin and respectful.
I agree with you Trent isn't a name overly used right now and not one that will get him teased very much. I like it!!!!
Reply:Love it!
Reply:Sounds really sophisticated. Great due date!
Reply:Like you said, Trent is a relatively difficult name for people to: A) misspell, B) mispronounce, and C) make up stupid nicknames for. And it's still unique enough that you're not likely to have 3 other Trents in his kindergarten class.
Those have got to be some of the most important considerations in naming your child.
Plus if/when he goes through the "I hate my name" phase (seems like most kids do), he's got a nice versatile middle name to use. You picked a good name.

Would you name your daughter Jillian if your future boys name was Jack (as a nickname for John)?
I really like the name Jillian for a daughter but am hesitant because we want more kids. If one of those future kids is a boy his name will be John but we would call him Jack. Too silly or acceptable?
Would you name your daughter Jillian if your future boys name was Jack (as a nickname for John)?
Jillian is cute, but Jack and Jill would be too silly. Why would you use Jack as a nickname for John? Either way, you should just name your children as they come - don't rule out a name based on the names you like for your possible future children, because you never know what the future brings...
Reply:If you truly LOVE the name than go for it! I wouldn't pass something up over a silly nursery rhyme. But be prepared to hear 'Jack and Jill' comments all the time. It's not a terrible association at all, just laugh it off learn to joke about it with others. I love the name Jill - it's so sweet! I hope you do use it.
Don't listen to the posters who say Jack is not a nickname for John- they are sorely mistaken and ignorant. Jack is a legit nickname for John- especially so if his middle name or last name starts with a hard 'C' or 'K.' It's been done for years.
Reply:Jack and Jillian would be too silly. However, if you really like the names, there are some ways to minimize the connection to Jack and Jill:
You could spell the name with a "G" as in "Gillian". I know a few Gillians who spell their name that way and it is a bit more sophisticated, I think.
There are other nicknames for John. Perhaps you could consider one of those. For example: Jock, Jonny. Or there are ethnic variants on John, such as Ian, Shawn, Zane, Ivan, etc. that you could use as a nickname.
Best wishes!
Reply:Yes, as Jack %26amp; Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. i see nothing wrong with names beginning with the same letter.

But on the other hand, who said you will have a boy or another child
You can plan on Jack, you may never get one
I might wait, and use Jillian or Jack for the next child
Reply:nothing wrong with Jillian and John aka Jack
Jillian can be nicknamed Jilly or Lilly when she's older if thats what she wanted. if you introduce them as JIllian and John or Jillian and Jack then that is what people will call them.
Reply:No, I would consider Jillian unusable in that situation. Why torture them with a lifetime of:
"Oh, like Jack and Jill went up the hill...?"
Choose another name.
Reply:Jillian is a great name! I don't see anything wrong with having a Jillian and a Jack. Other than Jack and Jill. That's the only silly part.
Reply:I wouldn't name my daughter Jillian in the first place.
John and Jack are much better. I'd toss Jillian.
Reply:I don't see what the problem is. Lucky for you - you can name your child whatever you want.
Reply:I'd be inclined to use Gillian so you don't have two kids with the same initial. That would have the advantage that Jack and Gill doesn't look quite so obvious...
Reply:What if you don't have a boy???? Jillian is a beautiful name. Who care's what people say? They won't always be together. I know someone who gave her girls flower names........
