Would you consider Emerson/Emery a girls' or a boys' name?

These are unique names I've stumbled upon, and surprisingly like. I usually go with the popular/classic names, but for some reason the name Emerson/Emery has stolen my heart!!

Would you consider Emerson/Emery a girls' or a boys' name?
It's so funny that you asked this, because my husband and I were wondering the same thing! We REALLY want to use it for our son (Due in June), but I fear it will be a name like Shannon, Terry...ya know mostly girly but still used on a boy. I want a boy/man name, not a unisex name so I'll have to keep checking your answers you get! But, in my opinion I think it's a boys name...I think...
Reply:Well I know a little boy in my son's class named Emerson so for me it's a boy's name:( I know it can be used for both though..

as for Emery I think it's a girls' name and it sounds very pretty actually :))
Reply:Boy, boy, boy! I really don't see anything feminine in them at all. Emerson even has "son" tacked on to it. How obvious is that? I adore both for a son.

(Madison is no example, because it is masculine as well).
Reply:i love emersyn for a girl. i think emerson could work for a boy. i dont care for emery as i think it sounds awkward. plus it just reminds me of emery board.
Reply:personally id say Emerson is more a boy's and Emery is more of a girl's.
Reply:Emerson I think of a girl. Emerson Rose, and Emery as a boy. Emery Mitchell.
Reply:Well when I hear Emerson I think of Emerson Drive, and when I hear Emery I think of an Emery Board. I kind of like it, and I would say girls names.
